– Bachelor’s degree programme Business and Economics (BBE): 240 places

As the number of applications received in recent years shows, the demand for a place at WU Vienna is indeed high: in 2021, almost 4,000 applications were received for the Bachelor’s degree programme in WiSo. For the Bachelor in Business Law, there were approximately 1,600 registrations. And for the English-language degree programme in Business and Economics, only every tenth person was able to look forward to an admission. More than 2,000 prospective students, most of them from abroad, applied for this degree programme.

Please remember that the fee must be received by the registration deadline. Only then will your application actually be considered. By the way, you will only need your Matura certificate when you are admitted to the degree programme, but not for the registration or application at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.

You can start the first stage of the admission procedure on a voluntary basis even before paying the fee and before the end of the registration period. This is the Online Self-Assessment (OSA), a kind of self-assessment test that supports you in your choice of study programme.

The OSA asks you about your interests, your motivation for studying and your previous knowledge of mathematics and law. As a result, you will receive comprehensive feedback. Now you can decide whether studying at WU Vienna is really right for you. After the OSA, you wait for the application deadline to pass. Only then do you have to take the entrance examination.

This procedure applies to all Bachelor’s programmes at WU Vienna. You can also apply for several degree programmes at the same time to increase your chances. In this case, you have to initiate the application and payment of the fee separately. The online self-assessment and the entrance exam are also separate for each Bachelor programme at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.

What do I have to bear in mind for the entrance examination at WU Vienna?

After registering online, you have to transfer the fee and complete your online self-assessment. After that, it’s time to wait and prepare. The content of the entrance exam mainly depends on the degree program you have applied for.

For the Bachelor’s programme in Economics and Social Sciences, you will be invited to take an Online Open Book Exam. You have to solve the tasks contained in the exam within a given time. Aids such as the internet and teaching materials are officially permitted. The deadline for the academic year 2022/23 is 30 June 2022.

For the entrance examination for the popular Bachelor’s programme in Business and Economics, you also have to take a written test. This takes place online and consists of multiple-choice questions that test your understanding of economics, your knowledge of mathematics and your English skills.

Can I start at WU in the summer semester?

You can start the Bachelor’s program in Economics and Social Sciences in the winter and summer semester. For the Bachelor’s program in Business and Economics and the programme in Business Law, admission is only possible for the winter semester.
